The soft mist clear filter combines a variety of filter technologies to create a subtle soft look. It reduces excessive sharpness but does not produce the same amount of light diffusion as the soft focus filter, while also lowering contrast slightly. It is ideal for creating a soft film look without producing an overstated special effect quality. The soft mist black filter is similar but has a slightly more subtle affect. Like the SMC filter it also diminishes highlight flares but does not lighten shadows as much.
